Mrs. Suzy Deasy

After earning my undergraduate degree in science at Ohio State, I worked in the business world for 5 years, becoming intimately acquainted with the world for which we are preparing our students. It was at that time that I attended graduate school with the goal of becoming part of the process of preparing our students to be successful and positive future generation of citizens and world leaders.

Since earning my graduate degree and working in both a high school and middle schools, I have focused my attention on providing the best science education possible at whatever level I teach. I continually strive to stretch and rethink how I present my curriculum and meet the changing needs of my students. I strongly believe in providing individual rigor and challenge all of my students to reach high and develop strong skills. I continue to adopt new techniques such as differentiated instruction and backwards design into my curriculum and lessons. By keeping my attention on meeting individual students where they are, students are all able to feel and show success and improvement throughout the year. Building positive relationships with my students is the most rewarding part of what I do!

When I'm not at school, I spend my days with my husband Paul and our two busy toddlers, Tate and Piper at our home in West Chesterfield.  We keep ourselves busy going on walks with our dog Abigail, tending our half-dozen chickens, and checking in on our even busier bees!
