Troy Elementary School

    Dear Parents;

    Before school drop off and after school, pick-up has been a topic of discussion that we have had as a community for some time.  After careful consideration and discussion with staff and Chief Ellis, Troy School will modify procedures as of March 5, 2018.

    Morning Drop Off:  ALL parents, including preschool parents, should drop students off at the drop off loop located in front of the playground, beginning at 8:15 AM.  Troy School Staff will be on duty to assist students out of their cars.  It will no longer acceptable to drop a student in front of the School Street Entrance.  If students are late or tardy, parents are asked to bring students to the Office Entrance, located in the back of the building.

    It has also been suggested that parents/guardians that are interested in dropping their children off or picking them up, park in the church parking lot or further down School Street.  Parking is permitted in the church lot, and students can walk to and from that location.

    Afternoon Pick-Up: Students who are walking or biking to school will be dismissed through the School Street door beginning at 3:10.

    Students being picked up by cars will be escorted through the Multi-Purpose Room Doors shortly after and will be lined up on the playground side of the drop off loop. As vehicles approach, students will be released to parents, or others designated to pick up students.

    Students taking the bus will continue with the same dismissal procedures.  No changes will be made to this routine.

    We ask for your patience and cooperation as we transition to this new plan.  Students being picked up in vehicles after school will NOT be dismissed until their vehicle is in sight in the drop off loop.

    As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to call the office at (603)-242-7741.
