What's New at Troy??
School Yard Scribbles
It’s hard to believe that summer vacation
is just around the corner and soon the halls will be empty and
quiet. As we head into the last few months of school there seems
to be a lot going on. On Friday May 2nd we will have a visit from
Ribby, the mascot for the Keene Swampbats. The students have been
participating in the Reading with Ribby program this year and
Ribby is coming to celebrate all the books they have read since
his first visit. The students who read for their assigned times
will receive shirts and a family pass to a Swampbat’s game.
That same afternoon Linda Wingerter, an illustrator, will be coming
to visit also. She will share her books and what it’s like
to be an illustrator with the children. On Monday May 5th we will
have our last Lend an Ear program. Musicians playing the French
horn and viola will come to share their talents. The PTO is happy
to sponsor the Lend an Ear program. May 6th is national Teacher
Appreciation Day. We would like to take this opportunity to say
THANK YOU to all the teachers at Troy School. Your hard work and
dedication is appreciated. The May PTO meeting will be held on
Wednesday May 14th at 6:00pm. As always, the meetings are open
to the public. The 6th grade class will head to Camp Takodah the
week of May 19th. While there, they will do tree tagging and water
testing for the state of NH, and further their environmental studies.
The Memorial Day program will be held on Friday May 23rd at 2pm
in the Elaine Merrifield Multipurpose Room. The public is welcome
to attend. School will be closed on Monday 26th in honor of Memorial
Day. The District Band Show will be held the last week of May.
Look for more information to come.
