PTO
Meeting
January 9, 2008
Present: Dave Dahl, Julie Reekie, Jodi Lloyd, Jean Isgro, Monya
Mooney, Beth Richardson, Darlene Rollins
Finances: Julie moved $5,000 from the checking account into the
savings account. This leaves $1,271 in the checkbook, and $12,600
in the savings account.
Reimbursements: Sue- candy for holiday event. Terri- $6.50 for a
punch bowl to be used for 6th grade graduation, and the $ spent
for the teacher’s holiday luncheon at Panera’s bread.
Terri deposited approximately $200 from Box Tops for Education,
and we have received $100 from the Fire Department for the BOJ event
(despite it being cancelled).
Teacher Requests: There are no teacher requests at this time
Winter Carnival: Due to the BOJ being cancelled, we have the hot
chocolate to be used for the winter carnival. Due to the recent
thaw, and uncertainty of if we will combine the carnival with the
AYP celebration, we will hold off on planning anything at this time.
Dave estimates that the AYP results will be issued on January 29th.
Carnations: We will deliver carnations on Thursday February 14th.
Barb has put in an order for 400 carnations with her sister. Terri
mentioned that last year we ordered 500, and the year before we
sold 700. An email will go out to the teachers inquiring if they
are ordering carnations for their classes, so we can get a better
estimate of how many we will need. We will have an announcement
at the Friday Morning meeting prior to orders being taken (from
January 28th- February 1st) and ask if we can have an announcement
every morning. We will accept late orders between February 4th,
and no orders will be taken after February 8th.
Year Book: The absolute latest day we can have our yearbook package
to the publisher is during the 2nd week of April. We have decided
to do a black and white yearbook with 4 color pages for the 6th
grade class. Terri will email the teachers about doing their own
class pages, and remind them that they can use printed photos, unless
they are of the 6th grade. We will meet on Thursday February 7th
to begin assembling pages, from 5:30 to 7:30. Pizza and chips will
be provided. The yearbook club, along with interested parents will
be meeting together that night. Events we would like to see in the
yearbook: intramural basketball, special committees, staff groupings,
state expo, hobby fair, winter carnival, Halloween parade, holiday
show, sing-a-long, pumpkin carving, spring show, winter show, student
presentations.. etc.
Beth will ask Kathy M. about having a student take photos during
basketball. Terri will put together a notice for the 4-6th grades
inviting parents to come and help out with an RSVP so we can have
an idea of how many people will be attending.
Fundraisers: Terri has received several fund raiser catalogues
from Springhill Nursery, Genevieve, and has been in contact with
the Innisbrook rep. We discussed different fundraising ideas for
this year, from Tupperware to Yankee Candle, Current and Readers
Digest. We also discussed a calendar, a tee shirt and a magnet.
Different people volunteered to gather information on these different
ideas and we will discuss them further at our next meeting.
The next meeting will be held Wednesday February 13th at 6:oopm
