Parent Resource Center Make an appointment to visit our Parent Resource Center. We have a nice space with free brochures and parent magazines, parenting books that you can borrow, and kits that you can borrow and enjoy with your children.

The Parent Resource Center is right next to our office in the same building (tan and green metal building with the red door, situated along the access road between the SAU and the high school at 604 Old Homestead Highway in Swanzey).

Generally, the center will be open on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays 9:00-3:30 and Wednesdays 9:00-11:30. It's best to make an appointment, because the room is also a conference room where other departments hold meetings. If the times listed will not work for you, please contact Sharon Arnone at 357-0400 to arrange a different time.

School/Parent/Student Compacts Parents, Title I instructional assistants, classroom teachers and school administrators at each school developed a Title I compact. The compact lists specific duties of school staff, parents and students. Compacts are used to create a partnership between parents and teachers to help our students achieve success.

Parent/Child Activities Elementary parents receive a monthly newsletter from the child's Title I instructional assistant as well as a publication, "Parents Make the Difference." The Title I program sponsors a variety of free parent training workshops and evening literacy events for parents and children. Parent/child take home literacy kits are available to sign out of the Title I office.

Parent Advisory Council (PAC) The Title I Parent Advisory Council helps to plan and evaluate the Title I program, as well as recommend special evening program topics. The group meets quarterly. If you miss a meeting at your school, feel free to attend one at any of the other schools. Child care is provided. Interested parents and community members are welcome to join this parent group.
