SCHOOL
PSYCHOLOGICAL SERVICES

Emerson School provides an array of
psychological services that address the needs of students, parents, and
teachers.
These services include psychodiagnostic testing
and consultative services, as well as individual and group counseling. These services are oriented towards
understanding a child’s strengths and weaknesses and developing any
needed interventions that would promote the student’s overall well-being. Learning disorders, as well as
behavioral, social, and/or personal limitations can impact on the child’s
mental health and educational development. To better address the needs of
students, the school psychologist works closely with other team members,
including parents, teachers, and related service providers. This assists in promoting a better
understanding the child, providing viable interventions, monitoring the
effectiveness of any intervention plans, and tailoring a student’s
educational plan based on his or her on-going needs.
