As the Elementary School Counselor at Emerson School it is my job to serve as a resource for students, staff, parents and community members here in Fitzwilliam. I assist the staff in providing students with a comfortable, safe, and educationally sound environment and curriculum that helps children to learn, to play together, and develop to their full potential.

I am trained to guide and counsel children individually and in groups as well as to provide some assessments and consultation with parents and teachers and staff regarding student behavior and planning.  I maintain confidentiality with students and staff.

I network with many of our community resources such as the Big Brothers and Big Sisters Program of the Monadnock Region, the Cheshire County Commissioners, the Cheshire County YMCA and Camp Takodah, Franklin Pierce College Community Service Program, the Fitzwilliam Police Department, Camp Mayhew Program for boys, and the Monadnock School District School to Career Committee.

How does a student see the school counselor? A student can request a meeting (self referral) with me, a parent or teacher or administer can do a referral, other staff persons or students may ask for my assistance.

Parents are welcome to call me any time about an issue and are certainly welcome to come to Emerson School for a conference to discuss a concern.

Please do not hesitate to contact me as a resource to help you and your child make school a good experience.
