Emerson School Library Media Center Policies

All materials MUST be signed out of the library, even for a short period of use. This makes it easier to locate materials when they are needed and helps with collection development. Thank you!
Library materials limits:
- Kindergarten:
- one book or magazine at a time.
- Grade 1:
- one books or magazine at a time.
- Grades 2-6:
- two items at a time(one of which may be a magazine).
When students require more resources for reports or projects, these library materials will be checked out to the classroom teacher.
- Faculty:
- Unlimited materials except for reserved materials. Faculty may sign out materials on the clipboard located in the Teacher Resources area when no one is on duty in the library. Faculty circ period is unlimited within the school year.
- Students:
- Students may borrow some reference materials, all Fiction, Non-fiction, Magazines, Book/Audio Cassette Sets, except Teacher Resources.
Student circ period is one week with renewals possible if materials are not reserved.
- Materials:
- Reference books and Teacher Resources may only be borrowed by faculty.
Reference materials are limited to in-school use only.
