Writing

 

1.      W–2–1  Students demonstrate command of the structures of sentences, paragraphs, and text by writing short passages.

2.      W–2–2 In response to literary or informational text, students show understanding of plot /ideas/concepts by selecting information to set context/background.

 

3.      W–2–3 In response to literary or informational text, students make and support analytical judgments about text by stating a focus (purpose), when responding to a given question

 

4.      W—2—3.3 Using details or references to text to support a given focus (Note: support may include prior knowledge)

 

5.      W—2—3.4 Organizing ideas by using a beginning, middle, and concluding statement/sentence given a structure

  1. W–2–4.1 Creating a clear understandable story line, with a beginning, middle, and end,

8.      W-2-5.3, 2-5.5, 2-5.6 Students demonstrate use of narrative strategies by creating characters, using descriptors, and writing about experiences, extending and elaborating ideas.

 

9.      W-2-6.1, W-2-7.1, 1-7.2 In informational writing (reports/procedures) students organize ideas, concepts by using a given organizational structure with instructional support, selecting facts to set context/background, establish a topic, and restate a given focus/controlling idea on a topic (purpose).
