W 1-4.1 Students will be able to organize ideas using a beginning, middle, and ending to create an understandable story line in the form of words, pictures, or some combination.

Directions:

Draw a picture about something you would like to do with your family. Write a story that goes with your picture. Describe who you are with, what you are doing, and where you are?

4 points	Student draws recognizable picture that includes at least 2 people and background information. Writes using conventional/phonetic spelling, a detailed story that shows beginning, middle, and end
3 points	Students draws recognizable picture that includes people with minimal background information. Writes using phonetic spelling a story that shows beginning, middle, end.
2 points	Student draws a picture of people or an activity. Writes story with minimal detail about the activity.
1 point	Student draws picture with few details that may/may not relate to task. Writes 1 sentence about the prompt.
0 points	Student does not respond to prompt.
