Lorna Watkins-Barth - Guidance Director May 17, 2012 Dear Students and Families; Progress report grades closed on Friday May 11th. Progress reports will be mailed on Friday May 18th. Please call your son or daughter's classroom teacher or myself if you have any questions. If you would like to review your son or daughters progress, you may contact myself (x128) or Sherry Page (x142) for your son or daughters grades to be emailed weekly to you through Power School. Seniors are welcome to meet with their guidance counselor by making an appointment to review their colleges, Naviance account and update their Resume' in Naviance. They have discussed their career and college choices with their counselor. Seniors planning to take a GAP year, enter the armed service and/or enter directly into their career may access guidance services after they graduate should they need help with future college and career choices. Seniors planning to attend college in the fall of 2012 will be filling out a guidance form on Senior Sign Out Day (June 6, 2012). This form includes listing their college choice, NCAA information, employment information and military plans. I will be mailing out final transcripts to colleges beginning June 11th. Juniors have completed their senior schedules with their counselor. They have a course selection form for parents/guardians to sign. Your son/daughter will receive their 2012-2013 schedulle before they leave for summer break. Please call me if you any questions about their senior class selections. It is important for all Juniors planning on applying to four year colleges/universities to register for one of the Spring SAT or ACT test dates (see the guidance main web site for these dates). Sophomores have chosen their 2012-2013 course selections. Students are reminded to return their course selection form with parent/guardian signature. Your son/daughter will receive their 2012-2013 schedule before they leave for summer break. You are welcome to call me with any suggestions for your son/daughters schedule. Please call for me if you would like an appointment. I have been meeting my new Freshman students and look forward to working with them over the next three years! I have been reviewing their current grades and estimating credits earned as of June 2012. I am reviewing their four year plan and educational goals. I have been getting to know them and helping them choose their courses for their sophomore year. Your son/daughter will receive their 2012-2013 schedule before they leave for summer break. Please call me if you would like an appointment. This is an exciting year for our students as we celebrate the 50th year that our school opened.
