Monadnock Regional High School Announces Significant Reduction in Dropout Rate
According to information released by the NH State Department of Education that compiled statistics from high schools throughout the state, MRHS has seen an important improvement in student dropout rates from the 2007-08 school year to the 2008-09 school year. In school year 2007-08, 42 MRHS students left school, for an annual percentage rate of 5.4% dropouts. In school year 2008-09, there were 20 dropouts and an APR of 2.9%. These figures represent an improved retention rate of 52% fewer dropouts between those two school years. School officials attribute the improved retention rate to teachers and staff focusing on the individual student’s needs, a positive climate and the implementation of methods for earning credit outside of the traditional classroom setting.
