About Monadnock
Monadnock Regional High School serves the 9th through 12th grade students living in the seven towns of the Monadnock Regional School District, a member of SAU #38. These southwestern New Hampshire communities are Fitzwilliam, Gilsum, Richmond, Roxbury, Sullivan, Troy and the Swanzeys. Monadnock was established in 1962 when the district was founded, and named after a nearby landmark, Mount Monadnock. The school, which shares facilities with Monadnock Regional Middle School, is located on Old Homestead Highway in Swanzey Center, five miles from Keene, New Hampshire. It is a comprehensive high school accredited by the New Hampshire Department of Education and the New England Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools. Enrollment (grades 9-12) is approximately 900 students. In the spring of 2006, the NH State Department of Education announced that Monadnock would be one of the districts in the state to pilot the Follow the Child initiative.
