Neil Moriarty of
He mentioned that there was no OSHA report for the middle/high school and wondered how NEASC got their information regarding air quality.
Response – the NEASC report doesn’t state a violation of OSHA reports, but rather that the science rooms don’t meet OSHA standards. No report is needed to determine that standards aren’t being met.
Also these are two small items in a large list of things the board/administration needs to focus on. We should be looking big picture.
Dick Bauries of Swanzey – He acknowledged the hard work the facilities committee has done. He believes that the maintenance items passed because the money came from Cap Res. Account. He warned the committee to be careful not to ask for too much money next year because of all the items on the warrant – citing two contracts, and operating budget as the big ones. He also threatened the committee stating he’d be watching the committee carefully warning again to be careful with big expenditures.
Discussion/update from Kaestle Boos.
Kaestle Boos has started data gathering – preliminary phase. They informed the committee that the board owns the data after everything is done. They did a first field review of the roof and site.
Handed out an appraisal forma and explained its function. They will have the education piece done before summer and will meet with the committee monthly – or as either sees fit. They will have a summary of findings, options, and costs then. And understand that the first NEASC report back is due Nov. 1st. They handed out a schedule/ timeline.

Hot topics currently
Ho water repair, smoke vents in auditorium, Gym vents, duct cleaning, kitchen hood, as well as troy sidewalks – will look into contract with Roy Bros.

Discussion/Update on football bleachers
Report from Nov. 1 states bleachers in need of major repair. Facility Committee feels bleachers should be roped off – unused – until repaired/replaced.
Questions – can we fix them in house? If so, How fast? / How Much? Can they be fixed by graduation – June 16th?
